I think we've managed to take care of the spam problem. I deleted every spam post I could find, banned all the users, and installed a mod that asks new users on registration questions like "Are you human?" before allowing them to sign up.
If you see ANYMORE spam AT ALL, please send me or Phil a PM so we can take care of it.
Sorry it's taken so long, but hopefully the problem is solved for good.

| That's our problem Freakin, infact I am already a victim for a spam posts having a link which is a carrier of a virus. My computer down that reformatting is only the solution. Huh, hope that there's are no more spam links and threads. |

Yay! Down with spam.
There has been a problem across all forum ever since they developed a script to guess passed the visual identification key. So, no doubt, the will keep getting in.
On my own forums I have to go and clean them out daily and the more active a forum is the more of the little buggers it attracts.
One thing that can help is deputising some extra moderators who live I different time zones to zap them when they come up. Some of the new ones have pornographic pictures in them so I hate to leave them up even for a short time, ewww. |

| You're correct. Is there any software that can block spam? |

| My personal view, what should be labeled as a spam is if someone posts something that doesn’t have any value, where foul language is involved and it could be directed at someone. Other than that spams are ads and if you open and see them they sell something. If someone doesn't want to buy, all they've to do is delete them. The reason behind this is I send out emails that's email marketing and it bothers me when people call someone's effort to make a buck a spam. Just my 2cents since it's the admin who is calling those posts spam he might have a good reason. |

Well here's what we've done to cut down on spam.
1) You can't submit any form within 5 seconds. Not registration, new posts, anything.
2) You have to answer a question when you sign up. Stuff like "What color is the sky?" and stuff like that
3) I can choose to filter any words I like. I haven't come up with a list yet but if spam is still a problem then I will use the filter. |

| That's impressive solution Freakin. Spams are pain in the butt. Better to kick them out of this board. |
