Steve Hillage - now he was a hippie if ever there was one. But he wasn't that well known in the UK, so probably even less well known in the US.

I saw him do a gig in Hyde Park, London, England, and he was really good.
He used to be a member of Gong, and his music was sort of experimental/progressive rock/pop. |
