Drilling in Alaska

So we saw that threat off for another round but they'll be back at it soon. the distressing thing about environmental goals it that you can't afford to lose any fight even once. Do you think they'll do it eventually? I just wish the Alaskan population wouldn;t keep polling in favor of it!

It's about drilling for oil in Alaska, one of the last great (and most fragile) American wildernesses.

Unless the government can come up with something else, they will drill for oil in Alaska. The sad thing is, we can't do anything about it. We can protest but protesting only goes so far.

Usually these things tend to happen when the population is for it.

here's a thought. we live in a democracy. The will of the people and all that jazz. If the people who LIVE in Alaska VOTE to allow the drilling then why don't the greenpeacers get their noses out of the process? It is THEIR land.

Answer: Because the fight is not about the drilling or the environment. It is about defeating a conservative led agenda. It is about forcing this country to negotiate with hostile outside forces to maintain a false peace so we can import their oil. The greenies are not a majority in this country and God willing never will be.
