I was surprised, well maybe I shouldn't have been, at some comments I have received for my 'Peace' sticker on my car. It just has the word peace over an American falg and although I like it it actually came with the car and clearly predates the current conflict.
I had someone suggest I wasn't 'supporting the troops'. WTF I support anyone in doing what their conscience tell s them, and wish every soldier to retunr home safely. I also support peace, everywhere, all the time and as soon as possible. Is there really any conflict? |

There is no conflict - but people have some very funny ideas. As soon as a war starts, there is this idea, promoted by the media, that the country has got to "get behind our boys", and ppl think that if you are against the war, you are somehow against "our boys".
I was involved in a picket of our member of parliament's meet-the-people thing in our local library, - she had voted for the war, and this was an anti-war demo. Well, this one guy came out of a nearby pub and said that his son was in Iraq, and he didn't want to have to listen to us - so we explained to him that we wanted to bring his son home safe. I don't know whether he really understood or not, but in the end he disappeared.
To be honest, I wouldn't have stickers on my car. There are some strange people around who really misinterpret things. |

| the problem is the ones who say they support the soldiers and then spit on them when they come back, calling them babykillers and the like... I've seen them at demos and they make me sick! |

Well I've never seen that Thumper. How awful.
Do you have any links about it?
I would have thought that most people who wanted peace would have come from Rattitudes side of the fence. |
