I have satelitte TV and I get loads and loads of channels. I get a few channels that show the older shows. When you watch these shows do they give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside of years gone by or do you wonder what you were thinking back then?

Good question. I was just thinking about this yesterday when I saw a very old show. For me it can go either way. I wonder why I liked some of them while others can still make me smile. Some of the goofs are so noticeable now but weren't back then. Very Happy

We are older and wiser now I guess. I still love watching the facts of life and love boat, but I just can't stomach gilligans island or hogans hereos anymore. So I guess our tastes change as we get older.

Only wiser, I don't get older! hehe Smile There aren't many of them that I could still watch and some of them I've only seen in syndication... I can still get a kick out of Gilligan's Island and the Beverly Hillbillies... those old sit coms. When it comes to newer shows, I still don't get tired of Full House and Family Matters. I wish Perfect Strangers would go syndicated. Laughing

A lot of these old shows, especially drama and sit-com are available on DVD sets now. I've enjoyed giving some favorites as gifts and will be doing the same this holiday season.

Do you mean suggestions for shows, or for where to buy them? If you meant shows, I'd ask them which of the old shows they enjoyed most... there are tons of them available now. If you meant where to buy them, I use Amazon. They're not cheap, but they're often 4 or 5 dvds that contain a whole season or two of shows.

I have been finding more and more of the DVD sets for old shows at Amazon. I'm almost afraid to go there now because something I find will remind me of another show to look up and it's usually there. They're expensive, though, and I wish the cost would go down!

Thank you for the effort destiny. I found many dvd's of old TV shows on Ebay. The good news is the prices are cheaper compared to the dvd's in the shopping malls.

You can't buy old movies because they are still expensive, but in the future there might be a technology that will cram them into one super DVD just like music where you can buy hundreds with a handful of CDs and doesn't cost more than a few hundred bucks.

You're very welcome. When you're searching for them on eBay, what is it that you put into the search to make them show up. I mustn't be using the right search string or something. Smile

They're already putting a lot of old movies onto on DVD, but the thing I'm talking about here is the old tv shows and they are bought by the season. A whole season is on a DVD or two, three, etc. and they're generally like $30 to $60 each.
