New Here from Miami!!

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum, It's so cool to find this space! I'm from Miami Florida and I grew up during the "HIPPIE" era. I attended lots of sit-ins and hung out in coconut grove. (Anybody here from Miami?)
Well I hope to share some memories. We have a park here called GREYNOLDS and in the day we used to have "LOVE INS" and folks would go there to trip & smoke. It was so well known that recently the city did a 60's "love in" day there. Everyone came dressed in old hippie atire & stuff but you just can't recapture those special moments! This was an awesome place to be during those years!I remember the day my sister skipped school to see the Beatles land at Miami International Airport, I bet she still feels my Fathers wrath! LOL It was certainly worth it! There was a guy named Ray Renick that lived down the street from me. He decorated his room with hundrens of clackers (remember them) hanging from the ceiling, beads in every doorway bean bags all over the place. So much incense buring it made you choke! What a great memory! Well I look forward to sharing with you guys, I'm into raw organic foods, yoga, gardening and Coast 2 Coast AM Anybody else listen to George Noory?

I'm not from the hippie era, but I love being in here and seeing different people's experiences. It has really opened my eyes.

Thanks for the "hello's", I'm sure we have so much to share, I'm just finding out about the "RAINBOW PEOPLE" Do a google search on these people Wow there are STILL hippies around!

Welcome! I remember clackers.... I think they were popular in the 70s... is that the same era you mean? I used to be pretty good with them, too. Clackers from the ceiling, that sounds fun. Well, unless they fell and bopped someone on the head! Laughing

These were the glass clackers and he had hundrens hanging from his ceiling. When the wind would blow they would clack forever! It was awesome!
