In the 70's, you could always find people protesting about something. Do you find that people protest as much now to show their strong beliefs or do you find that we just "go with the flow" more?

I think there's absolutely as much protesting now... only now it gets a lot uglier and more verbal.

Yes, I think back then people had a nicer and a lot less more violent way of showing their protests. I really don't think the way people do it now is more effective, it's just sadder and uglier.

Those who are in charge now seem to pay more attention to the public's need and involve the public at every level, whereas the earlier administrations could be a bit offbeat and do what they think is right most of the time. If you look at Iraq war, it has caused a huge fury and protest led by a female.

In some other cases, for example in the Philippines, protesting is very rampant. It gives only traffic to the streets and sometimes it gives danger to the people. I guess those people who join the protest just go with the flow and they even donīt know what they are protesting for. I think some of the protesters were being paid just to join it.

You can buy people to join your protest in third world countries, but in places like the U.S. that doesn't work for the most part, and it takes a lot nowadays to organize any kind of protest, well because there aren't many reasons.
