Hippie movement on vietnam war.

I heard from my grandfather that hippies played very important role against america-vietnam war. But he didnt clearly tell me. do you guys know about it?

They were against the war and that was why they were dogging it and they had demonstrated in everything they were doing that war was bad, simply because people die for no good reason, and that had been witnessed in Vietnam. They were embarrassment for the government and the mainstream that were never firm with their war decision, where some say let's withdraw, while others were staunch supporters and the staunchest opposition came from the hippies? communities.

Hippie culture is asscoaited with pacifism. They would oppose pretty much an war let alone the Vietnam war which ranks next to the Korea war as a hugely boody effort. It is never clear to me why the US ecomkes involved in some cases and not others--it seems not to matter how many civilians die, bjust whether the "enemiy" is someone thewant to fight.

I mean genocide was allowed to go on in Indonesia because Pohl Pot (wolrd record holder for genocide) was our "ally".
